Travel spice box

As a family we rent often cottages for summer vacation. In some cottages you find find salt, pepper and other common spices but others have nothing. This little spice box will solve the problem. I bought some small glass tubes with screw-on aluminum lids. Aluminum is not ideal as the release of aluminum ions into the food can be toxic but the lids have a seal inside. The spices will not touch the lid. This should be OK.

I included Turmeric and Cayenne Pepper in the spice kit. This are not only spices but this can double as an emergency kit. Both can be used for wound care. Cayenne Pepper stops bleeding but it can also relax a strained muscle. Applying it topically with some oil increases blood flow and warms up the area.
