Firefox crash, ubuntu 16.04
Firefox is the example of how an incompetent management team can destroy a product and a company.
This web browser used to have a significant market share and now it has almost collapsed. The problem is
however that Firefox is basically the only competition to chromium/google. We can therefore not let it die
and you should support it just to prevent a market monopoly.
I have an older Ubuntu 16.04 computer and Firefox runs on it but crashes randomly and in a non reproducible way.
These crashes can be prevented if you use synchronized X11 calls by using the "-sync" option:
nice /opt/firefox-140.9.1esr/firefox -sync
Start firefox as above and you have an up-to-date web browser even on an older Linux installation.
It runs stable and works reliably.
